Privacy Policy of LingvaSfero
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the LingvaSfero application handles user data and ensures privacy protection. LingvaSfero is committed to maintaining transparency and safeguarding your rights in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data Collection and Processing
LingvaSfero is designed to operate without requiring user account creation. We do not directly collect personal identifying information such as your name, email address, or physical address.
However, to ensure app functionality, manage premium subscriptions, and support our services, we integrate third-party SDKs (specifically Google AdMob and RevenueCat). These third parties collect and process certain technical data and identifiers (anonymous/store user ID, device ID, usage data, purchase details, and crash diagnostics). For a comprehensive breakdown of these data collection practices, please refer to Sections 4, 8, 9, and 13.
3. Use of Third-Party Content
LingvaSfero aggregates content from third-party sources but does not control or modify these sources. Users should review the privacy policies of those third parties for information on their data collection practices.
4. Storage of Application Data and Logs
To enhance user experience, the LingvaSfero application stores certain data locally on your device. This is done for the following purposes:
- To reduce redundant API calls and improve performance.
- To store user-defined preferences for a personalized experience.
- To save bookmarked/marked content.
When the app communicates with our servers, these requests are sent anonymously, and no statistical usage is made of them. However, for essential security reasons and to prevent abuse, your IP address is temporarily stored in our server logs. Under the GDPR, this is processed under the legal basis of our "Legitimate Interest" to maintain network security. No other sensitive or identifying data is stored or transmitted.
5. API Interactions
LingvaSfero communicates with an API developed by us to retrieve aggregated content. The app will transmit to the API the list of channels to which you are subscribed to allow the app to retrieve the latest related content. None of this subscription data is tied to your identity, and it is not stored on our servers after the request is fulfilled.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Apart from the third-party advertising frameworks mentioned in Section 8, LingvaSfero itself does not use cookies, tracking technologies, or any form of internal analytics to monitor user behavior.
7. Data Security
We ensure that our infrastructure and API interactions follow security best practices to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or misuse of the minimal technical data we process.
8. Advertising
To support the development and maintenance of LingvaSfero, our app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and RevenueCat for handling statistics related to advertisements. Ads are enabled by default for all free users.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, we rely on your explicit consent to serve personalized ads. You will be prompted to manage your ad preferences when your trial period ends. If you decline personalized tracking, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (based on broad context rather than your behavior).
You can update or withdraw your consent for personalized ads at any time by navigating to Settings > Ads within the application.
You can choose to permanently disable all advertisements by purchasing a premium subscription within the app (see Section 9).
For more information about how AdMob handles user data, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy:
9. In-App Payments and Subscriptions
LingvaSfero offers in-app purchases and subscriptions (such as the ability to disable advertisements). To securely process these purchases and verify your subscription status, we use RevenueCat.
RevenueCat is used as a data processor to manage in-app subscriptions, validate purchases, and generate performance statistics related to marketing campaigns and advertisements. All transactions are primarily processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, making purchase data subject to the respective privacy practices of Apple and Google. You can review the complete data handling practices at RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
For more information on how these third parties handle your data, please review their privacy policies:
10. Third-Party Privacy Policies
LingvaSfero aggregates content from third-party sources, including YouTube and Spotify. We do not control these sources and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Users are encouraged to review their policies:
Additionally, LingvaSfero retrieves content from various websites via RSS feeds. Since these sources are dynamic and diverse, we cannot provide a complete list of their privacy policies. Users should refer to the privacy policies of individual websites when accessing their content through our application.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Users will be informed of significant updates via an in-app notice.
12. Your Data Rights, Deletion, and Contact
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your personal data. However, because LingvaSfero does not use user accounts and does not collect identifiable information (like your name or email), we do not possess a standard personal profile for us to delete.
If you have made an in-app purchase, your anonymous subscription data is managed by RevenueCat. You can easily request the deletion of this purchase-related data by navigating to Settings > Help within the app, which will generate a pre-formatted email for you to send to us. Alternatively, for any privacy-related inquiries, you can reach us directly at: developer@lingvasfero.fr.
Note: We cannot delete your actual financial transaction history from Apple or Google. To manage or delete your payment history, you must do so directly through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.
